Welcome to St. Thomas' Episcopal Church Website!

Who We Are Together

We are a community of Episcopal Christians who gather weekly for worship, centered around the Holy Eucharist (Communion) in order to be strengthened for service to the world in which we live.
Membership begins with baptism, and carries with it responsibilities according to people’s gifts and abilities, and the privileges of life in God. All the members of this church are lay ministers, living out their baptismal vows in their every-day lives at home, school, and at work.
This community is served by its Vicar (priest), The Rev. Carolyn Metzler. She is glad to meet with people for conversation, confessions, and short-term counseling. Carolyn has special interests in spiritual direction, beautiful worship, end-of-life issues, healing, and is a weaver. She also serves this area as a hospital and Hospice chaplain.

Who We Are in Maine

St. Thomas’ was founded in 1868 and has been a steady presence in this area ever since. We are one of 72 churches in the Episcopal Diocese of Maine, served by our Bishop, The Rt. Rev. Chilton R. Knudsen.

Worship: The Heart of it All

"Walking into Saint Thomas' is like walking into a doll house, but when you get inside, it's like being in one of the great Cathedrals of Europe."
~Rebecca, an occasional visitor to St. Thomas'.

Our community.

Our life together is formed by common worship, and by our service to others.

Our worship is “loosely traditional.” All who desire a closer relationship with the Lord Jesus are welcome at our altar, knowing thereby we are strengthened for service to the outside world.

We offer discernment and encouragement to each person in their life and work.  Whoever you are, wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome to come meet God with us.

Whether you need to be still,

or whether you need to connect and serve,

you are welcome here at

St. Thomas.

Thank you for visiting.

God bless you and give you peace.

Worship Schedule:

Sunday Mornings at 9:30 AM
